Educating and Empowering.

Reflection from Denise Cagley-Jefferson

Dear Friends,

The past five years have been full of exponential growth and success for Blue Mountain Project. Since its official birth on July 14, 2004 BMP has managed to build and stock two basic health centers to care for over 3,000 patients, facilitate over 700 international volunteer opportunities, provide free meals to more than 500 children and the list continues to go on…

As the Founder and first BMP Executive Director, I could not be more proud of these accomplishments. I cannot help but smile when I think of the form and evolution BMP took from my first visit to Hagley Gap in 1994 with Northland College to the vision Sarah (Scott) Weaver and I had over a bottle of wine to the celebration of its 5th Anniversary this month. What an amazing transformation!

Now, as I pass the torch to a new Executive Director, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who have been part of the process so far. Thanks to the Board and Staff for your dedication and commitment. Thanks to the Volunteers for spending your precious time to further promote the mission. Thanks to the Donors for giving the gifts that make the work possible. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who has ever believed in me and my dream. I am honored, humbled and eternally grateful!

With Affection,
Denise

Good Job

Denise:

Just found this site. My two trips to Hagley Gap were life changing. I just recently graduated from graduate school with my MBA in International Business from Xavier Cincinnati. I plan to purchase investment property in Montego Bay and eventualy retire to Jamaica. I appreciate you sharing your vision and this beautiful experience with us. Jazmone (my girl scout) is a junior at Xavier Louisiana and we sometime reminesce on the time we escaped the hurricane. Please keep in touch and good luck in your future endeavors. Victoria F.
